UEA wins 'Best Enterprising University' and 'Best Collaborative Space'
The Amazonas State University (UEA) won as the 'Best Collaborative Space' and 'Best Enterprising University' on the 2° edition of the Jaraqui Graúdo Award, promoted by the Jaraqui Valley. The awarding aims to recognize initiatives that contribute to an improvement on the Amazonas entrepreneurial scenery. The award presentation ceremony happened on December 8th.
UEA's chancellor, Cleinaldo Costa, highlights that the Senior Management is happy with the results. "We face difficulties, however there is work, union and talent in the university. This is a collective conquest." he celebrated.
The Samsung Ocean is a training and capacitating center, inaugurated in 2014, created to deliver mobile solutions, focusing on university's students, programmers and aspirants. In loco, free and intensive courses are offered. The space is a result of the partnership between UEA and the korean multination company Samsung. the labs are the first of its kind outside South Korea, the enterprise homeland.
The event awarded the best startup initiatives in 12 categories: Best National Mentor; Best Local Mentor; Best startup event; Best incubator, Collaborative Space, Best meetup space; Best communication motor; Best report; Best consulting; Best startup action; Enterprising University and Startup of the year.
In total, around 40 companies and people were nominated for the award's 12 categories promoted by Jaraqui Valley. Aside frm the awarding, the event also had lectures, such as "How I sold a startup to Google," with Edleno Silva Moura, and "How to receive money from Inseed Investimentos," with Euler de Souza.
